Two construction companies were fined after a court heard how a boiler engineer fell nine metres to his death as a result of unprotected edges.
The two companies were fined a total of £135,000 under section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 for failing to ensure the health and safety of people not in their employment and Regulation 6 of the Construction(Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996 and ordered to pay prosecution costs totalling £11000.
